Picture, charcoal drawing. Received into NHS 6/13/1958. 14" x 18". Back of piece says "Gordon Alvin Rice, Born August 2, 1861, Died may 4, 1933." In charcoal written below says "Mr. G A Rice, 13 N. G St. Virginia City." Son of Elvira M. (Gordon) Rice and Alvin Tony Rice. Note on back says "taken about 1887." This is a photo that has been enhanced with charcoal by artist. S. Pollak, San Francisco was the artist or photographer (lower right corner). |
