Description |
3926. Charcoal drawing by Robert Caples. It is of an elderly Native American man helping a young boy shoot an arrow. The elderly man is behind the boy and has his left hand on the boy's bare back. Both figures are facing to the image's left and are squinting. The both have thin shoulder length hair. The boy is pulling the arrow back on the bow with his right arm and aiming. The front of the bow and arrow are not in the image, they run off the left side. The back end of the arrow has a twisted feathering. No visible signature but believes there is one since the copy has a signature on BR. There is a booklet called "The Desert People: A Portfolio of Nevada Indians Robert Caples" Made by the University of Nevada Press-Reno-1970. In the booklet there is a brief history of Roberts life in Reno and his interaction with Native Americans. On the back there is a list of the drawings he did. |
