Correspondence and other papers of William J. Maxwell Sr. and William J. Maxwell Jr. Materials relate chiefly to the elder Maxwell's activities as a mining superintendent in Gold Hill, Nevada, in partnership with George H. Thoma (later superintendent of the Nevada State Hospital) and their mining interests in eastern Nevada; and William J. Maxwell Jr.'s position as warden of the Nevada State Prison in Carson City. Other correspondents include V. Butsch, Agatha Butsch Maxwell, George T. Maxwell, and Edward E. Maxwell. |
