Correspondence, family papers, and business records of Crescenzo's general store in Austin, Nevada, built by Samuel A. Crescenzo (1833-1902) in 1881. The business was initially run by Samuel, then by Samuel and his son, John A. Crescenzo (S. Crescenzo & Son). Next, the store was operated by the partnership of Soloman & Crescenzo (Isaac "Ike" Solomon and the Crescenzos), and finally, shortly after the turn of the century, by John Crescenzo alone. The bulk of the material concerns the firm of Solomon & Crescenzo, with a few items relating to S. Crescenzo & Son and to John A. Crescenzo as sole proprietor. Includes an autograph book (1886-1887) of Lucy Crescenzo (Samuel's daughter and John's sister; later Mrs. Oscar J. Clifford), and a personal letter to Solomon from J. B. Jones of Reno, Nevada, pertaining to the "scalping" of tickets for the Corbett-Fitzsimmons championship prizefight in 1897 (at Carson City, Nevada).
