A letter (June 16, 1937) from Friedmans' booksellers to Mahoney in his capacity as librarian of the Virginia City, Nevada, library (a position funded in the 1930s by the federal Works Progress Administration). Some historical research notes, possibly for Nevada history articles Mahoney wrote for the WPA's Writers' Project; an article, "Senator John P. Jones: Personal Recollections of Him and His Kindred" (circa 1938), in which Mahoney also relates some events of his own life; and a book-length manuscript biography (circa 1940), of Comstock Lode "Bonanza King" John W. Mackay. |
